HOW WE CAN HELP

What is Safeguarding Consultancy?

Safeguarding consultancy is independent, expert support that helps your organisation protect children and vulnerable people while meeting your legal obligations. A safeguarding consultant looks closely at how you work, points out where things could go wrong, and helps you put stronger policies, systems and everyday practice in place.

Most organisations get in touch at a particular moment. Sometimes it is before or after an inspection. Sometimes a difficult incident has raised questions that need an honest answer. Often it is simply that policies have fallen behind the latest guidance, or that trustees and governors want reassurance that safeguarding is being taken seriously. You do not need a crisis to contact us. Plenty of our clients work with us to stay a step ahead of changes to guidance such as Keeping Children Safe in Education.

FAQ

Common questions about safeguarding consultancy

A safeguarding consultant is an experienced, independent professional who helps organisations protect children and vulnerable people. They assess how you currently work, identify the risks, and advise on the policies, procedures, and practices you need to meet your responsibilities

We review your policies, procedures, records, and day-to-day practices against current guidance and good practice. You then get a written report that sets out your strengths, areas to improve, and a clear order of priority.

An audit is a detailed examination against set standards that produces a formal report. A review is broader and more collaborative, looking at the overall effectiveness of your safeguarding. Some organisations have both. Get in touch if you would like more details.

Sections 175 and 157 of the Education Act 2002 place a legal duty on schools and colleges to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. Our consultancy helps schools understand and evidence these duties within daily operations.

We publish clear prices. Consultancy starts at £125 per hour for ad hoc advice, £525 for a half-day, and £945 for a full day, with two-day (£1,800) and three-day (£2,550) options for larger pieces of work. Prices exclude VAT, and we confirm a fixed price in writing before anything begins.
