Dental Safeguarding Training

The BDA recommend that all staff are trained to at least Level 1 and this is achievable with our online Level 1 Safeguarding for Dentists course. Clinical staff such as dentists, hygienists and dental nurses will also require Level 2 training, this can be obtained by taking both our Level 1 and Level 2 Safeguarding for Dentists courses.

Specialist clinical staff, such as paediatric dentists or those with a specialist role that requires an additional depth of safeguarding knowledge may require extra training, but this is not required by most dental practices. Our courses do not extend to Level 3, 4 or 5 (as referenced in the framework: Children and Young People: Roles and Competencies for Healthcare Staff).

“I found the course very easy to understand. As I have followed the topics I have printed off the policies and I will keep them all together in my folder and make sure all staff know where to find them. The course has given me all the tools needed to confidently lead in the DSP role and I have learnt so much more than I was aware of previously.”
