Onsite Safeguarding Training in Wales
We deliver face-to-face safeguarding training at your workplace or setting throughout Wales.
Our trainers are experienced in delivering a range of safeguarding training levels, including; basic safeguarding awareness training covers (coving similar content to our online Safeguarding Children training). This is an introductory course helping all staff/volunteers who work with children or young people recognise the signs of abuse and respond appropriately if they have any concerns. We can also deliver combined courses which focus on both children and adults at-risk.
Our in-person trainers can also deliver Level 3 safeguarding training. This is similar to our online Designated Safeguarding Lead Training and Safeguarding Lead Training for Children and Vulnerable Adults. They provide a more advanced look at safeguarding and are suitable for those individuals that have taken on a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) role.
Our experienced trainers provide engaging, practical sessions tailored to your setting and staff roles. You’ll also have the opportunity to speak with your trainer in advance to ensure the course reflects your organisation’s specific needs.

More information
All Wales safeguarding training is overseen through a multi-agency approach led by six Regional Safeguarding Boards, each responsible for protecting both children and adults at-risk within their area. These boards were established under the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, which forms the legal foundation for safeguarding practice across the country.
Each Safeguarding Board brings together key agencies, to work collaboratively on the prevention, identification and response to abuse, neglect or exploitation.
In addition, professionals in Wales follow the Wales Safeguarding Procedures, a national framework providing consistent, practical guidance for anyone working with vulnerable groups.

FAQs - All Wales safeguarding training
The All Wales Basic Safeguarding Awareness Training is an introductory course designed for anyone who works with or has contact with children, young people or adults at-risk. It covers the fundamentals of recognising abuse, understanding safeguarding responsibilities and knowing how to respond appropriately to concerns.
Our Level 3 Safeguarding Training Wales course is more advanced and intended for those in designated safeguarding roles, such as Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs). This training goes into greater depth on topics such as multi-agency working, managing referrals, information sharing and is designed for anybody who is taking on the Safeguarding Lead role.
We set a maximum group size to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the training. Safeguarding is a sensitive and complex topic that benefits from discussion, interaction and real-world scenario work.
Smaller groups allow our trainers to engage with participants more directly, tailor content to their roles, answer questions thoroughly and ensure everyone has a clear understanding of their responsibilities. This is why we don't tend to train in groups larger than 20 attendees.
Safeguarding in Wales is governed by its own legal framework, which includes the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Wales Safeguarding Procedures. These provide specific guidance for safeguarding children and adults at-risk in Wales, ensuring a tailored approach to local needs. It is essential that training reflects the unique legislative environment in Wales to remain compliant and effective.
