Child Protection Scotland is guided by Scottish Government policies and frameworks such as Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) and the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007, which underpin the importance of recognising and responding to harm or neglect.
Across Scotland, safeguarding responsibilities are shared between local Child Protection Committees and Adult Protection Committees.
