The Children's Safeguarding Assurance Partnership covers the safeguarding requirements of the Pan-Lancashire region, including Blackburn, Darwen and Blackpool. This replaces previously individual Local Safeguarding Children Boards.

The Lancashire Safeguarding Adults Board, meanwhile, is responsible for the safeguarding of adults across the region. It has a diverse and segmented structure which ensures its partners hold local persons, organisations and one another to account.
