More information
The primary body overseeing these efforts is the Durham Safeguarding Children Partnership (DSCP), which aims to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people across the county.
County Durham also has a dedicated framework for safeguarding adults at-risk of abuse, neglect or exploitation. This is managed by the Durham Safeguarding Adults Partnership (DSAP), a statutory body established under the Care Act 2014. The DSAP brings together local authorities, health services, police, housing and voluntary organisations to protect vulnerable adults and promote their well-being.
Nearby regions such as Sunderland, Newcastle and Northumberland have their own designated safeguarding training pages.
