Q: Who is responsible for Newcastle Safeguarding Children?

The Newcastle Safeguarding Children Partnership (NSCP) is the agency that ensures that organisations work together effectively to safeguard children and young people. It is jointly led by Newcastle City Council, Northumbria Police, and the NHS Integrated Care Board and focuses on developing procedures, sharing learning and improving outcomes for children at risk.

The Newcastle Safeguarding Adults Board (NSAB) is responsible for protecting adults with care and support needs from abuse and neglect. It brings together local authorities, NHS services, police and the voluntary sector to develop policies, provide training and oversee safeguarding practices across the city.

Face-to-Face Training

Our face-to-face safeguarding training is available throughout Newcastle and the surrounding towns, including Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Durham. Each course is designed for professionals and volunteers who work directly or indirectly with children and young people.

We also offer in-person Newcastle Safeguarding Adults training designed for organisations that work solely with adults at-risk (for more information see our online Safeguarding Adults training).

Our experienced trainers can also deliver more advanced safeguarding content, as outlined in our online Designated Lead Training (DSL) course.

If you need safeguarding training, we can provide a session tailored to your staff's roles and responsibilities, either virtually via live video conferencing or in the comfort of your workplace.

In just three hours, we’ll deliver comprehensive safeguarding training that meets your legal requirements and actively engages your staff.

Individuals wanting in-person safeguarding training

To ensure cost-effectiveness and maximise impact, our in-person sessions are best suited for groups of 6-20 attendees.

Unfortunately, we do not offer scheduled training for individuals or very small groups at this time.

If you have a small team, we’re happy to discuss online safeguarding training options or perhaps you could combine with other settings to jointly host our face-to-face safeguarding training.
