equestrian safeguarding courses

Today, on National Equestrian Safety Day, we are pleased to announce the arrival of three brand new safeguarding training courses for equestrians! You can view or purchase our new arrivals right away by clicking here.

Safeguarding is an important part of any role that requires you to come into contact with children, young people, and vulnerable adults. If you work in a riding school or any other equestrian setting that is open to the public, you will most likely need to take a safeguarding training course.

At the Child Protection Company, we write our training courses so that they are relevant to your workplace, because we know that the best learning happens when it’s put into a familiar context. We’ve worked in association with the British Equestrian Federation to develop all three of our brand new online equestrian safeguarding courses, so we know that the case studies and information included in each course will be more appropriate for you than any other.

For an overview of our three brand new equestrian safeguarding courses, please read on.

Equestrian Basic Safeguarding Awareness

This course delivers an overview of safeguarding in the equestrian setting for anyone who works or volunteers within an equestrian environment. Developed in association with the British Equestrian Federation, it introduces you to child and adult protection procedures, including legislation, signs and indicators of abuse, and how to report safeguarding concerns.

Delivered completely online, this safeguarding course takes between 1 to 2 hours to complete and provides information, scenarios, and downloads specific to the equestrian sector. It is regularly updated to meet legislation changes and it covers the equestrian safeguarding requirements for England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. You can select your region at the start of the course.

This course can be taken by anyone involved in the equestrian sector, including volunteers, as an alternative to face-to-face training at the introductory level. However, if you are an equestrian professional, you may find one of our other courses more suitable for your needs. Please read on for further description of our other British Equestrian Federation online equestrian safeguarding courses.

Our Advanced safeguarding course covers both child and adult protection topics, including how to maintain a person-centred focus, making referrals, and handling allegations. The course refreshes and builds upon the safeguarding knowledge you will have already received from your face-to-face training, using equestrian scenarios and case studies to put the learning into context.

Benefits of Training with the Child Protection Company

Unlike other training providers, our equestrian safeguarding courses have all been written in close association with the British Equestrian Federation, so you can be sure that our training is relevant to your workplace, appropriate in the context of your role, and up to date with the current government and industry legislation and guidance. We’ve written three separate courses for a reason, and that reason is to ensure that your learning is the most effective for you, rather than a generic ‘one size fits all’ learning experience.

We take pride in what we do, and we enjoy working closely with our clients to ensure they have all the knowledge they need to respond to safeguarding concerns calmly and appropriately whenever situations might arise—in the workplace and further afield. We have already trained hundreds of equestrians and thousands more individuals outside of the equestrian sector, and with over a decade of experience as dedicated safeguarding experts, we know our courses have helped many clients to achieve top marks during inspection.
