New regulations for children’s homes to raise expectations and aspirations

New government proposals are in place to raise expectations and aspirations in children’s homes. The proposed standards, due to come into place in April 2015, contain 9 quality standards designed to place emphasis upon supporting children in homes in order for them to achieve.

Staff in homes are expected to work closely with teachers and to support children in doing homework, engaging in hobbies and in social interactions with friends both inside and outside of the home.
