The Government has set out measures to implement the recommendations of the independent Let Children Be Children report produced by Reg Bailey who is Chief Executive of the Mothers’ Union. The measures aim to protect children from what is being termed the creeping tide of commercialisation and access to inappropriate information in today’s society.
The Bailey review set out its view that we are now living in a society which is full of inappropriate imagery and where families don’t feel as though they are in control. As a consequence, children cannot be children.
One of the measures being taken is consulting on whether current age rating system should be extended to cover more music DCV and Blue-ray discs.
