According to an article in The Herald Scotland, nearly a third of pupils aged between 11 and 16 have accessed unsuitable material on the internet whilst using computers in their schools.
The poll measured the internet usage of 1000 school students and found that 29% had viewed sites with abusive or violent sites and even more worryingly, 18% had seen sites with adult content.
There is a fear, that whilst schools have new technology, some do not always know how to monitor it correctly. Here at the ChildProtectionCompany.com, we have written an e-safety awareness course designed to introduce and explore the issues surrounding e-safety awareness. We also have a course written specifically for parents. To find out more about these courses, simply click here.
