Following on from our blog on January 3rd, which outlined some of the key points on cyberbullying, it is interesting to report on new statistics from ChildLine. The charity’s report – Can I tell you something? shows that the number of children contacting ChildLine about cyberbullying almost doubled in 2012-13 compared with the previous year. During the same period reports of other types of bullying had just an 8% increase.
The report also found that 84% of children who contact ChildLine about cyberbullying are 12-18 years old. The table below is taken from the ChildLine report and shows how bullying varies across children of different age groups.
