School specific safeguarding training

The latest Ofsted safeguarding briefing for schools Inspecting Safeguarding Briefing (Jan 2014) reinforces the message that safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility. The briefing states:

“safeguarding is ‘everybody’s’ responsibility … everyone should know who to contact if they are concerned about a child or young person.”

“the importance for all staff in an establishment of having appropriate training and induction so that they understand their roles and responsibilities and are confident about carrying them out”.

Training is an important element of safeguarding, along with policy and practice, and the’s Introduction to Child Protection training course has a specific education version aimed at teachers and school staff.  The course is in line with the requirements of Ofsted and the latest government guidance Working Together to safeguard Children 2013.

Feedback from schools on the Introduction to Child Protection course include:

  •  “A well put together course. Far better than the ones I’ve had in schools in the past. Well done!”
