Child Protection – Working with statutory agencies.

To work effectively with other agencies it is necessary for you to be aware of some of the tools used and understand the roles of the statutory agencies. In so doing positive communications and information sharing can be achieved which will contribute to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Effective child protection requires a coordinated multi agency approach.  The above quote is from our Child Protection for Childminders training course, and learning about working with other agencies is a key part of all our safeguarding courses.

The Childminders course and the Child Protection Level 2 courses have modules detailing the roles of statutory and non statutory agencies, with exercises to highlight the importance of working together. The relevant sections of the common assessment framework – a multi agency child protection tool – are also explained.  The aim of the modules on working with other agencies is to help the learner build the knowledge and confidence to work with these agencies and share information appropriately to safeguard children .
