Ofsted’s safeguarding briefing for schools Inspecting Safeguarding Briefing reinforces the message that safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility. The briefing states:
“the importance for all staff in an establishment of having appropriate training and induction so that they understand their roles and responsibilities and are confident about carrying them out”.
Our online Introduction to Child Protection training course has a specific education version aimed at teachers and school staff. The course is in line with the latest government guidance Working Together to safeguard Children 2013 and other sector guidance such as ‘Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education’ (DFES 2007) and ‘Dealing with allegations of abuse against teachers and other staff’.
The Further Child Protection course is designed for those taking the role of the designated professional for safeguarding within an organisation, or those wishing to extend their knowledge on this important subject. This course covers the principal elements of training for designated members of staff as specified in the Ofsted briefing (Annex 3).
The online training is extremely flexible as it can be taken at a time convenient to you, can be stopped and started as often as you like and the full course content remains accessible for the two year duration of your course certificate.
