If your work or volunteering in the equestrian sector brings you into regular contact with children, it is vital that you have up to date child protection training.
We offer two online equestrian courses, developed by our in-house child protection experts and in association with the British Equestrian Federation.
What’s more, both courses now have variants available for England, Wales and Scotland.
The Child Protection for Volunteers course is an introductory level course specifically developed for equestrian volunteers. It is comprised of seven short modules and covers: legislation and guidance, the different types of child abuse, how to spot the indicators of abuse and neglect and what to do if you have concerns about a child. The course takes around an hour to complete and can be paused and restarted so you can fit training round your busy schedule.
The Child Protection for Equestrians – Refresher course is a comprehensive course specifically developed for equestrian professionals and covers: legislation and guidance, the different types of child abuse, the range of indicators of abuse and neglect, child protection policies and procedures, identifying concerns, handling allegations and complaints, the roles of statutory bodies and how and when to make referrals. The course takes around 2 hours to complete but can also be paused and restarted.
