Safeguarding Guidance on responding to Sexting in Schools

A new non-statutory guidance document on how schools and colleges should respond to incidents of sexting, as part of their safeguarding responsibilities, has been published by UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS).

The guidance looks at the extent of the issue, the law and the role of the police as well as detailed advice on how schools should handle any incidents and information on educating young people about this safeguarding issue. This detailed document is aimed at designated safeguarding leads (DSLs), their deputies, headteachers and senior leadership teams.
