The downside to child protection systems

Following on from the news that the government is planning on introducing a new system to detect potential child abuse by tracking children when they visit hospital accident and emergency or urgent care centres, an interesting letter has been written to the Guardian by Tristram Llewellyn Jones.  Tristram argues that some parents may be fearful of taking their children to hospital due to the potential child protection issues and therefore vital treatment may be missed or delayed.
