Senior Conservative named but is innocent

Recent allegations made in relation to child protection issues in care homes in North Wales have led to a senior conservative politican being named online as being involved. However, the individual responsible for naming him has today said that it was a case of mistaken identity. He had originally identified a man to police in the early 1990s and had been told by the police the name of the gentleman in question. However, having today been shown another photograph, he said that it is not the same person who he identified previously.

Legal action will now be considered against those responsible for the claims linking him to a children’s home in Wrexham. The BBC’s programme Newsnight has also become involved as it aired the claims last week, although it did not name anyone during the item.
