A new project has been launched in Wales to form a coordinated multi-agency approach to missing children. The Gwent Missing Children Project is made up of Police officers, social workers, health workers and an education representative.
The team will assess the risks to children from the very first time that they go missing. Potential
risks include physical and sexual violence and exploitation, substance misuse, involvement in criminal activity and social and educational exclusion.
The project will also provide support to children who have run away from home and try and help them identify and address any underlying issues.
