What is the Introduction to Adult/Child Protection – Level 2 course?

This is an online adult safeguarding and child protection training course specifically developed for the nominated child protection lead (senior designated person) and deputy who have already completed a level 1 course.
The course will provide you with essential information on:

  • What is involved in the role of a senior designated person
  • Safeguarding legislation and processes
  • Working with both statutory and non-statutory agencies
  • Identifying concerns/making referrals
  • Handling allegations and complaints

The course comprises of eight modules followed by an assessment to test understanding. It should take between 1-2 hours to complete, although it can be stopped, paused and restarted at any time. Click here for a full course breakdown.

The course is in line with the latest government legislation and guidance including Working Together to Safeguard Children 2010, “What to do if you’re worried a child is being abused” 2006 and “No Secrets”. It is fully compliant with local safeguarding board requirements.

On successful completion you can download a personalised Training Course Certificate, which is valid for 2 years.

A dental version of this course is also available and can be selected when the course is started.

What is the Introduction to Adult/Child Protection – Level 1 course?

This is an online adult and child safeguarding course, specifically designed for people who need to be trained in both child protection and adult safeguarding. By combining what has traditionally been two separate courses into one, saves both time and money.

The course will give you an introduction to safeguarding and raise your awareness of:

  • The applicable legislation and guidance
  • The different types of abuse
  • Signs and indicators of abuse and neglect
  • How to respond to concerns

The course is compliant with all government guidance including local safeguarding board requirements, CQC requirements, Level One Introduction to Child Protection as detailed in Working Together to Safeguard Children 2010 and the Ofsted inspection framework. It covers everything from concern to referral, so suits the needs of any worker in any field.

The course comprises of seven short modules followed by an assessment to test understanding. It should take around an hour to complete, although it can be paused and restarted at any time. Click here for a full course breakdown.
